this system is an extremely costly operation.
I have received good information about the
new technology that will be coming out at
some point in time.
Mayor Fauson asked for public comments.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Dave Rhoder, Coal Creek Ranch
Rhoder: The Sales office at Coal Creek Ranch has
experienced a great deal of frustration
trying to get time tables for the installa-
tion of cable television at Coal Creek Ranch.
Initially we contacted Scripps Howard in
April of 1989 and Scripps Howard representa-
tive said that cable would probably be in
within three months, but for sure within six
months. We called again in August, after
five months of waiting, to check on the
schedule and Scripps Howard said that Coal
Creek Ranch was next after Summerhill was
completed. Again we asked when that was and
they said most likely November but definitely
by the end of the year. Residents began
moving in at Coal Creek Ranch on August 1,
1989. We passed on the information we re-
ceived from Scripps Howard and needless to
say our homeowners became frustrated and many
expressed their anger to us. Not only were
numerous misrepresentations made by Scripps
Howard, but Scripps Howard did not attempt to
correct the problem or resolve the situation.
David Burns, 1023 W. Alder St.
Burns: Expressed his concerns about the cost of the
cable, and the indirect cost that the consum-
er is paying. Also the addressability issue
was another concern of his. I do use the
cable ready aspects. I feel we are limited
to our use and this needs to be addressed.
Tom McAvinew, 229 Lois Dr.
McAvinew: Had mixed emotions about the system. I agree
with the addressability issue. Part of the
problem that I have had with the system has
to do with the first impression of the sys-
tem. The cable TV needs to have an office in
Louisville. To provide service across the
street from me a temporary line was run from
my pedestal, through my fence across the bay,
