MTDC is in the process of proposing some type airport access
which would involve an interchange at 36th Street and 96th
Street.
Davidson withdrew his suggestion to have this item removed from
the budget.
ELIMINATE SHOP EQUIPMENT
After an explanation from Phare that he would come back to
Council before spending the money Davidson withdrew his
suggestion to have this item removed from the budget.
UPGRADE P.A. SYSTEM AT CITY HALL
It was suggested that $15,000 be placed in the budget for a new
P.A. System for City Hall, because of all the problems that have
been occurring with the system and all the complaints that
Council has had from numerous people.
Carnival suggested that the Finance Committee look into this.
Davidson moved and Hornbostel seconded to place $15,000 in the
Capital budget to have the P.A. System at City Hall replaced. By
show of hands motion was defeated 2-5 with Mayor Fauson,
Carnival, Howard, Szymanski and Sackett voting no.
METERING CITY WATER
Davidson: This
water the city
issue. Could
capital budget
is an important
if really using.
be taken out of
for this item.
issue knowing exactly how much
We need to get rolling on this
the reserve that remains in the
Davidson moved and Howard seconded to include $2,500 out the
Capital budget to begin metering reading of city water. By show
of hands motion was defeated 3-4 with Mayor Fauson, Carnival,
Sackett and Szymanski voting no.
ELIMINATE CODE ENFORCEMENT TRUCK
Davidson stated that since the Code Enforcement Officer will be
left in the budget this item also would be left in.
REBUILD INSTEAD OF REPLACE BOTH THE RIDING MOWER AND THE DEERE
MOWER.
Davidson: There was not justification showing that we had
suffered any sufficient repair expense on either one. What I
purpose to do is instead of spending the $15,600 to replace the
mowers I would suggest that we have them rebuilt.
Phare: Was not sure there was time with regard to man power or if
it would be cost effective. Our two mechanics have enough work
9
