looked into was Highway 7, and at that point
Lafayette had problems with that. There was
Dillon Road, there was South Boulder Road. When
they looked at Dillon Road, it was probably the
road that needed the least amount of work done on
it. This compromise was that we use existing
roads. That is where the cost reduction was going
to be.
Sackett: If you take 96th, when you get to Dillon is it the
thought that you would have to stop or the thought
you curve 96th onto Dillon so that you can
maintain a 55 mile an hour speed limit?
Hornbostel: I think they are going to use the existing grade.
It would have to come up to a stop light.
Sackett: There are so many stop points, that access to the
airport becomes moot if we are not careful. That
is one of my main concerns. It seems that there
needs to be some modifications so that you have a
T. This way you have a complete stop, then turn
right. If you go to the road that goes behind
Rocky Flats, you basically have to slow down.
Hornbostel: The one on 93, at the time the map was made, they
thought that the DOE land went all the way to the
top of the tip. I think now they realize that it
doesn't and that they could cut straight across.
Howard: Was also concerned with 93 at the tip. Would it
be possible for the resolution, that if we make
it, to specify that we would like that to curve as
much as possible? I would not like to see people
have to drive towards, then backwards before they
continue on their route. Also from looking at the
map, it appears that the intersection that goes
from 96th Street to Dillon Road, if Louisville
fills in the area, would be a major part of
Louisville. If 96th Street continues does that
turn into Main Street?
Hornbostel: No, it turns into Front Street.
Howard: Could that have any positive effects on
revitalizing Front Street or do you have
information on that?
Hornbostel: I do not have any information on that. I think
that is something that we need to discuss.
Sackett: I actually wanted it to connect with 42 instead of
Front Street.
Brand: Franklin is going to be working with the County
6
