IT Director Neves stated at this time the goal is to <br /> get the City Service Facility on board and to fulfill the City's needs. <br /> Mayor Muckle asked Mr. Abeyta what level of service would the City's residents and <br /> businesses receive. Mr. Abeyta stated they typically do not do fiber for home projects. <br /> They provide self sites, fiber to towers and back haul capacities for the towers and are <br /> connected to a nation-wide network for the World Wide Web. They do provide service <br /> to all the school districts. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Council member Loo fully supported the Zayo Group proposal. <br /> Council member Stolzmann asked if there was any interest in completing the fiber loop <br /> along 96th street. IT Director Neves explained he approached the question and was told <br /> there is fiber running along the railroad track, but the Zayo Group does not have access <br /> to it. They had negotiation but at this point, they have nothing along 96th Street. <br /> Council member Stolzmann was in favor of the proposal and stated she would like to <br /> complete the fiber loop. Mr. Abeyta stated things changes regularly and a customer may <br /> request a fiber connection. <br /> IT Director Neves stated there is real value in partnership with a local business. <br /> Council member Jasiak was well aware of the Zayo Group's reputation and was grateful <br /> to have Zayo Group in Louisville and as a business partner. She thanked them for <br /> working with the City. <br /> There was City Council support for the Zayo Group proposal. <br /> APPROVE DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br /> AND GOODLAND CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF <br /> COAL CREEK TRAIL DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE <br /> SEPTEMBER 2013 FLOODS <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. <br /> CIP Manager Trettin provided a PowerPoint presentation on the Coal Creek Trail <br /> Disaster Recovery Project. She outlined the project as follows: The Coal Creek Trail is <br /> a 4-mile regional trail through Louisville. It runs from US 36 to Lafayette with east/west <br /> connection and 95% of the trail is to be reconstructed. It does not include the underpass <br /> at Dillon Road, FHWA/concurrent with Golf Course reconstruction. The work includes <br /> return of trail to pre-disaster condition; mitigation at US 36 and beneath the BNSF <br /> railroad; engineered embankment including rip-rap; landscaping/cobble removal and <br /> seeding. The location of trail is consistent with pre-disaster condition and location. <br /> 40 <br />
