Cn/ffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1195, Series 1995, "An ordinance amending Title 17 of the
Louisville Municipal Code to establish an Old Town Overlay Zone District, to amend the Zoning
District Map of the City, to provide for additional definitions, to amend the nonconforming use
provisions and to make other amendments in connection therewith."

Paul Wood, Planning Director, reviewed the two additions to the ordinance, Sections F and G. He
showed slides and reviewed the issue of nonconforming structures at 801 LaFarge Street, 804
Walnut, 1040 LaFarge Street, 1040 Jefferson, 600 Short, and 1141 Jefferson. He asked for Council's
direction concerning reducing the required vision clearance in the ordinance.

Davidson called for Council questions.

Keany was concerned about the established Old Town residents who may someday lose more than
50% of their garage to damage of some sort, as they would have to reconfigure their backyard to
replace something that had been acceptable before that.

Sisk suggested that under 17.36.060, page 6, add" .... if an existing residential dwelling or accessory
building is located in Old Town .... "in place of" .... if an existing residential dwelling located in the Old
Town...". It would still have to meet the safety requirements, but it could be rebuilt as long as there
is a visual clearance area and it is not in conflict.

Davidson opened the public heating and called for anyone wishing to speak on Ordinance No. 1195.

NONE

Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments, questions, or motions.

Sisk moved that Council adopt Ordinance No. 1195, Series 1995, on second and final reading with
the incorporation on page 6 in Section 6, 17.36.060 adding after" .... residential dwelling .... "," .... or
accessory building....". Seconded by Mayer. Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 6 - 0 vote with
Howard being absent.

ORDINANCE NO. 1196, SERIES 1995 - AMENDING CHAPTER 9.90 OF THE
LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING UNCLAIMED PROPERTY - 2ND
READING - PUBLIC HEARING (PUBL. LSVL. TIMES 7/22/95)

Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1196, Series 1995, "An ordinance amending Chapter 9.90
of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning unclaimed property."

Lt. Tom Bock, Police Department, stated that this ordinance allows the Police Department to more
effectively and efficiently dispose of property that is unclaimed.

Davidson opened the public hearing calling for anyone wishing to speak on Ordinance No. 1196.
