Possible
locations are Coal Creek Elementary, the Arboretum, or Monarch K -8 —to be
determined by Chris. Question was raised about a possible tree planting at the site of
the future Helburg Memorial, but project is still in the planning/fundraising stage.
IX. Board Requests for Funding in 5 -year CIP— Highest priority items for HFAB are
Arboretum restrooms, signs, and the Xeric Demonstration garden renovation. Susan
explained that the Conservation Trust Fund, which was established for open space, can
be used for maintenance needs under some circumstances. This means that funding
already earmarked for projects such as the restrooms could be diverted in order to
restore the fund to its required level. For more information, see the packet from the
Feb. 3 City Council meeting.
X. Update on DELO Development —There will be a HOA which will be responsible for
the majority of landscape maintenance. English questioned whether the development
contracts contain any assurance that the developer is financially responsible for ongoing
maintenance. Suggestion was made to draft a letter outlining these concerns to Council
and the City Manager.
XI.
