LCityof
Louisville
Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
March 18, 2015
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
c) Update on marketing hire candidate/ plans and start date:
• Joe Stevens discussed the new hire, Denise White, who will work part time
under David Baril and Joe Stevens as the marketing manager. She has solid
experience working for municipalities and government, as well as experience
with golf courses.
• Denise White will begin on March 23rd and be at the April GCAB meeting.
• Board member Cory Nickerson served on the interview committee and met all
candidates, a highly competitive group.
d) Update on "The Mine" restaurant schedule and plans:
• Joe Stevens reported that the golf course restaurant has some code
violations what were not previously called out when operated by WGP due to
`grandfathering'. The City is actively working with Sarah from the restaurant to
resolve these issues (i.e., no sink to wash fruits and vegetables, no grease
pit). These have proven to be a bit problematic but they are working through
them all.
• Lisa Norgard asked if the restaurant will keep the large 3' x12' table, which
the Women's League uses to meet; David Baril confirmed that this table will
still be there.
e) Update on meeting between City and Golf Leagues
• Joe Stevens reported that we need to wait on this meeting until the City and
has the programs and pricing completed sometime in April. Lisa Norgard
agreed that is okay and she will be included when the meeting gets
scheduled.
f) Update on on- course Signage
• David Dean reported that he feels we are in good shape. He stated he would
like to have a "family tee" and will work with David Baril on this effort.
• Ken Gambon mentioned that golfer may need some guidelines regarding
from which tee to hit. David Baril talked about how the ranger /starters will be
able to assist golfer with the rules and recommendation for hitting from which
tees but cautioned about using signs with negative messages.
• David Dean gave an update on the choice of images (icons) for the casts.
Tags will be on signs.
• Lisa Norgard asked about the ability to add color to the reverse sides of the
tee signs if needed. David Dean responded that this flexibility exists, but he
believes that the tees will work great with the symbols instead of colors and
the industry direction is away from color coded tee markers.
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335 -4735 • FAX (303) 335 -4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS GOLF
