Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
March 16, 2015
Fasick stated she was concerned with the colors and asked for assurance the structure
won't look like the Melting Pot.
Hartronft stated the structure will not look like the Melting Pot. He stated they are talking
about elements from the mining days, such as cross braces.
Watson gave Hartronft a compliment on his design and how the new structures do
reflect Louisville. He stated we need to do more of that.
Stewart asked what siding of the new buildings would be.
Hartronft stated there would be cementitious and core tin.
Fasick asked if the two gables line up.
Hartronft stated the Grain Elevator is about 50 feet and the new building is about 40
feet.
Fahey stated she agreed with Watson on how this structure also reflects the agricultural
heritage of Louisville.
Stewart asked about the new build zones and why they don't correspond to the
viewshed zones.
Hartronft stated there needed to be areas for utilities and access.
Haley asked what the dimensions of the shed are.
Hartronft stated it is about 8 -10 feet wide and 14 -16 feet long.
Haley asked what the use would be.
Hartronft stated he would like to see it used as a tap house for the outdoor dining area.
Haley asked if there was a specific location in mind.
Hartronft stated it is going to be located where we show it on the PUD.
Watson asked staff what format was needed for the comments to Planning
Commission.
Trice stated your comments up to now will be given to them.
Stewart stated the green space should remain and not be parking. He stated the shed
would be welcomed since one is already there. He stated the adjacent buildings should
have more contrast but appreciates staff's recommendation to change the color.
Watson asked if we should use Stewart's list as the basis of our comments to Planning
Commission,
