IU citiyof
Louisville
Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
April 20 2015
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
signage etc, by permitting advertising on the course or any other City
property.
o The on- course water coolers are on order and will be placed on holes 3, 9
and 15 with additional water available on a table by the clubhouse. David B
agreed to position an additional (existing) cooler on the driving range.
o The Dillon underpass will be completely usable by the time of the re- opening.
At present, there is a deep hole next to the cart -path on the south side but
LU is filling the void with stones picked from the fairways, taking care to
protect the utility lines in that area. Work on fixing the fagade of the bridge is
delayed due to the Federal Highway processes with work expected to begin
in November.
o The range ball dispenser will be moved to the lower level of the clubhouse.
It will dispense balls electronically according to 1) a PIN number purchased
in the clubhouse 2) a pre -paid card or 3) a regular credit card. This is
designed to reduce pro shop workload, improve business controls and
accounting and provide ease of use for customers.
c. Update on "The Mine" restaurant schedule and plans: The concessionaire
continues to work diligently and enthusiastically to be open at the Grand Re-
opening. To achieve maximum impact there are no plans for limited activity
beforehand. Several issues have come up during inspection of the clubhouse: the
floor needs to be sealed in the food prep area, a grease pit needs to be added in
the basement, some plumbing issues must be fixed and some access issues must
be addressed. Staff have budget to take care of these problems as part of the
start -up expenses. The concessionaire is working with the architect to improve the
ambiance of the dining area to attract non - golfing usage. The liquor license is fully
in place. A food cart will be positioned at the clubhouse to serve golfers after the
9th and 13th holes with more than the usual basic fare but still in a fast -serve
manner.
The recent rains showed up yet another severe leak in the clubhouse roof. The
City Maintenance team is working to correct and it is expected that this will be
covered, at least in part, by the warranty from the recent repair.
d. Staking for the tree planting along HWY 36 and other areas of the course will be
done in the first week of May.
e. Joe undertook to schedule the next public meeting and tour of the course for an
evening in the first or second weeks of May. The clubhouse will not be open to the
public but it was suggested that "The Mine" be invited to provide refreshments on a
cash -bar basis in an outside environment. A further sneak - preview was proposed
once the golf carts are on site in mid June.
f. Mats may be used initially as the range continues to `grow -in' and will be used on
the driving range in winter or in wet weather in summer.
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335 -4735 FAX (303) 335 -4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS GOLF
