Summer 2015 3
conStruction aheadcoal creek golf reoPening
Continued from page 1
and rerouted cart paths. In addition, crews implemented
improvements previously outlined in the Golf Course
Improvement Plan, removed outdated timber walls, and
constructed new practice facilities including a 22,000
sq. ft. Punch Bowl Green…the first in our region. Coal
Creek was able to bounce back from the flooding this
past Mother's Day and is beginning to look like an oper-
ating golf course again.
As construction winds down, we continue to remind
the public to stay off the golf course for personal safety,
to avoid damage to the new turf, and to give us every
opportunity to promote and establish the turf grow-in
throughout the year.
Inside the clubhouse, changes are in the works as
well. The Mine at Coal Creek restaurant has been
outsourced, the space is also undergoing upgrades, and
menus are developing with tasty treats. The pro-shop is
ordering merchandise to please a wide range of golfers.
Additionally, marketing and communications are ready-
ing to launch a Coal Creek Golf Course Facebook page
and Twitter handle so our golfers can keep up with the
latest happenings and special offers.
For complete details on course reconstruction, open-
ing day events, fees and tee times, please visit CoalCreek-
Golf.com or call 303.666.7888 (PUTT).
Coal Creek Golf Course
By the Numbers
¾98% all major construction
completed by April 2015
¾25 acres of fairway damage
rebuilt
¾65 EZ Go golf carts ordered
¾8 Golf Bikes Procured
¾14 damaged greens rebuilt
¾35 to 40 washed out bunkers
reconstructed
¾10 damaged tee boxes rebuilt
¾3 destroyed bridges replaced
The Summer construction
season is underway and
there are many projects around
town that will impact travel. We
would like to thank everyone for
your patience and understanding
during the construction season and
remind everyone to exercise caution when driving, biking, or
walking through a construction zone.
Downtown Construction - Multiple projects are sched-
uled for downtown this year, a project map is available on
the city’s web site. Projects that will have the most impact on
residents and businesses are highlighted below.
Sewer Replacement - The project includes the replace-
ment of the sewerline on Johnson Street and in the alley east
of Lafarge Avenue and south of Pine Street. Several businesses
and residents will be affected by this work and will receive
schedule notices in the weeks prior to construction.
Storm Sewer Outfall Improvements Phase II – This
project will install storm water infrastructure and remove a
portion of downtown from the floodplain. Construction on
Front Street between Pine Street and South Street will not
commence until the fall or winter.
Additional work will occur throughout town includ-
ing: resurfacing Via Appia from McCaslin Blvd. to South
Boulder Road, the installation of two traffic signals: one at
Dillon Road and St. Andrews Lane and one at Paschal Drive
and Highway 42, and the construction of the new bridge on
County Road.
If you wish to receive project information or have ques-
tions, please contact Joliette Woodson (303.335.4603 or
JolietteW@LouisvilleCO.gov). Include your name, mailing
address, business (if applicable), email address, and contact
phone number.
The City would like to under-
stand how you’re using your
waste services currently so we can
plan improvements in the future. If
you live in the City’s service area for
trash, recycling, and composting,
please complete a short survey at
www.westerndisposal.com/lesstrash by June 26.
