EXECUTIVE SESSION: Mayor Fauson called for a short recess and asked that <br />Council meet in Executive Session regarding <br />contractual negotiations. <br />Mayor called the meeting back to order after the <br />Executive Session and began with Regular Business. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS: <br />PRESENTATION - LOUISVILLE YOUTH ACTIVITIES <br />ASSOCIATION Ken Ferrera of the Louisville Youth Activities <br />Association (LYAA) stated that the group coordinates <br />a major fundraiser. For the past several years LYAA <br />has developed a calendar raising funds for <br />advertising in the calendar and then selling the <br />calendar in the community. Along with the <br />advertising, the calendar has contained a raffle <br />ticket for prizes. Funds derived from the LYAA <br />calendar are targeted toward improving youth sports <br />programs offered in Louisville through purchases of <br />equipment and supplies. Calendars were passed out <br />and everyone was encouraged to support the LYAA. <br />PRESENTATION - SENIOR CENTER FUND RAISER <br />PROJECT Members of the Senior Board told Council that to help <br />raise funds to furnish the senior citizens area of <br />the new recreation center and to demonstrate support <br />for the C.U. Buffaloes in the Orange Bowl, senior <br />citizens are selling "C.U. in Miami" T-shirts for <br />$10.00. The orders will be placed each Friday and <br />shirts will be available the following Monday. The <br />shirts were demonstrated and everyone was encouraged <br />to support the Seniors' efforts to raise funds. <br />ORDINANCE #998, SERIES 1989 - ALLEY VACATION - CORRIGAN SUBDIVISION - <br />2ND READING, <br />PUBLIC HEARING Read by title only, Ordinance #998, Series 1989, "An <br />Ordinance vacating a portion of an alley located in <br />Corrigan Addition." Proof of publication and notice <br />of public hearing were established by the City Clerk. <br />Franklin explained that there were certain items <br />related to this alley vacation that were not yet <br />ready for Council approval and asked that the public <br />hearing be continued to December 5, 1989. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and asked if <br />anyone was present that wished to speak to this <br />Ordinance. There was no one wishing to speak. <br />Mayor Fauson moved and Anderson seconded to continue <br />the public hearing on Ordinance #998, Series 1989 <br />until December 5, 1989.
