Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />21 May 2015 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />Action item: Suzanne will provide additional analysis on the newly established <br />minimums versus gate percentages for June meeting. <br /> <br />Summer meeting schedule: Motion to move summer meetings as follows: June <br />8th (Monday) at 6:30 pm; July 14th (Tuesday) at 9 am. Motion approved. <br /> <br />Food Vendor Policy: Historically, Summer Concerts had food managed by a <br />single vendor (Huckleberry). Food trucks need a permit from the city to sell at <br />the park. If LCC invites a vendor they fall under the special event permit. <br /> <br />Motion: For 2015, LCC will invite up to three vendors per night, tents preferred <br />over trucks, charged $30 per night per vendor. Motion approved; one dissention. <br /> <br /> <br />Programming Reports/Committee Updates – <br /> <br />• Summer Concerts: Nina Storey is a possible additional concert for the <br />summer series. Cost is $1600 for 4 musicians or $1800 for 5 musicians <br />plus $150 for a sound engineer. Motion to hire Nina Storey with a 5 piece <br />band on July 23rd, approved. <br />Sound engineer with equipment is available for $150/night – a possibly for <br />the entire summer series. Motion to hire Ethan Alpert/Audio Crusade for <br />the summer series (except FACE), approved. <br />Mark needs someone to take over the summer concert negotiations (Nina <br />Story), arrangements and other committee work for the summer. <br />Lawrence will take over concert negotiations and Lead role for the <br />summer concerts. <br />• Sunday Chamber Committee: Antero Winds 4/19/15, was successful <br />(30 attendees). Motion to cancel 9/20 date, but to keep 12/6 date; <br />approved. Motion to contract with Alfredo Muro for $300 or 80% of gate <br />for 2 performers on 10/11/15; approved. <br />• Lecture Committee: Possible collaboration with Louisville Art <br />Association/Jane Evans in the Fall. Suzanne will follow up with her and <br />report back. <br />• Friday Night LIVE! Committee: South Platte Syncopators was a high <br />energy performance – 35 – 40 attending. Motion to contract with <br />MaryLynn Gillaspie on 9/25 with a 5 person band - $500 or 80% of gate. <br />Motion approved. Motion to contract with Alfredo Muro on October 23 for <br />$500 for a 4-person group; approved. <br />• “Angie’s Lit” Committee: Young Writers Workshop had about 65 kids <br />participating. Several parents volunteered to help. Possibly it will be in <br />-- For approval -- <br />
