side streets. There isn't any other
alternative.

Mayer:

I think the point you're missing is
that with every other development,
the front is on a residential street
where there's parking. Here, where
you say park on the side streets,
there's not a side street anywhere
close. They're going to have to go
around the corner. I know what's
going to happen, we're going to have
lots of problems with parking and
people complaining about why we (the
City) are not allowing parking on
Pine Street.

Lathrop:

My preference would be less density
with the same plan. The next
preference would be less density
with access on Pine Street. We're
not far from the streets, where
people can access right direct to
Pine. I feel that this development,
as proposed, is too much for too
little of site. Although I'm an
advocate for development, I'm also
an advocate for quality development
and I don't feel that this quite
makes it.

Sisk moved that Council deny Resolution No. 1, Series 1993, for the
reasons stated by Councilman Lathrop. Seconded by Lathrop. Roll
call was taken. Motion passed by a 5-2 vote with Hedding and
Davidson voting against.

ORDINANCE NO. 1093, SERIES 1993, - RENAME CENTENNIAL DRIVE AS
DESIGNATED ON THE PLAT OF CENTENNIAL HEIGHTS WEST TO "HILLSIDE
LA}rE" AND "HILLSIDE COURT" - 2ND READING - PUBLIC HEARING (PUB.
LSVL. TIMES 1/6/93)

Tanoue read by title only Ordinance No. 1093, Series 1993, "An
ordinance renaming the street known as "Centennial Drive" as
designated on the plat of Centennial Heights West to "Hillside
Lane" and "Hillside Court."

Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated that purpose of the street
renaming is to eliminate a street name that has no logical
alignment or relationship to the existing Centennial Drive in the
City of Louisville.

Davidson opened the public hearing asking if there was anyone in
the audience who wished to speak to Ordinance No. 1093.

NOME

41
