Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
August 17, 2015
Discussion ensued regarding the importance of voluntary.
Fahey asked if we could change the word to evaluate.
Trice stated it could.
Stewart stated of the Year 1 elements he thought improving the handouts should
be a high priority.
Fahey stated she would like to prioritize so all of the information has been current
and accurate.
Trice presented Years 2 to 3.
No questions on Year 2 to 3.
Trice presented Years 3 to 5.
Watson stated the priority list of properties, in 3 to 5, should be moved up on the
priority list, maybe to Years 2 to 3.
Trice stated part of it is to get years of surveys under our belt, but we can look
into it.
No other questions received.
Trice presented Years 5 plus.
Fahey stated there are two items shown which are found in the Museum plans.
Trice stated this master plan does consider other activities throughout the
community.
Fahey stated it still seems like a conflict.
Russ stated we could consider changing the action verb "modify" to "encourage"
so it doesn't look like this commission is looking to own activities from other
boards.
Fahey agreed.
Trice stated she will be working directly with the Historic Commission and will ask
for their feedback as well.
Stewart stated he could caution staff from treating this document as an HPC
document. He hopes other boards and commissions will take ownership of the
document.
