Museum Coordinator's Report: (in addition to written report attached to <br />agenda) <br />1. Tomorrow, Bridget will give a talk on the old Louisville High School <br />at a Brown Bag at the Library, this being the topic of the most <br />recent Louisville Historian. <br />2. In November, a few more Foundation directors will plan on <br />attending our meeting. <br />3. Anne had 32 people on walking tour last week. Anne told the <br />Commission about an archeology project in Superior. <br />4. Bridget talked about this coming first Friday Art Walk talk at the <br />Museum. <br />5. DNA presentation by Bridget in August had 28 people in <br />attendance. <br />a. Update on Museum Master Plan: Bridget stated that the Master Plan will <br />consist of the existing Needs Assessment document, plus an Interpretive Plan <br />and a Business Plan. An executive summary will be written when all are <br />complete. Anne, Paula and Julie will work on a subcommittee and meet with <br />Bridget to make improvements and suggestions to documents. <br />i. A Museum Interpretive Plan is to tell what you do and what you want to <br />do — all mission related. Bridget provided a draft in the meeting packet <br />asked for advice on the following points: <br />1. Interpretive Theme Statement — Does the Commission prefer the <br />tag line of "We're Listening," or "We Each Have a Story to Tell "? <br />The Commission members indicated that they prefer the second <br />option. <br />2. Is tone of document right? Members felt tone was fine. <br />3. The draft plays up tourism aspect and the possibilities to develop <br />tourism in Louisville. The Museum is the only tourist attraction. <br />Currently, no one keeps track of how many visitors come to <br />Louisville. Bridget stated that she thinks that it would be good to <br />give more thought and planning to what activities are available for <br />tourists. <br />ii. Collections Management Policy — this will be an appendix in interpretive <br />plan. The Commission reviewed a draft at the July meeting and a revised <br />draft showing the edits that were made was in the meeting packet for <br />3 <br />
