Job Bulletin Page 2 of 4 <br />• Researches records to secure name and address of owners; prepares correspondence <br />notifying owner of the violation, and requests resolution under terms of the ordinance, and <br />follows up to ensure compliance. <br />• Investigates, collects evidence, statements and processes reports in response to <br />complaints, crime, injury, accidents and other open space and parks incidents. <br />• Provides assistance and acts as a liaison to the public, responding to questions concerning <br />parks, recreation and open space facilities programs, policies, rules and regulations. <br />• Assist with vegetation management including control of noxious weeds. Assist with control <br />and restoration methods including: mapping, monitoring, mowing, clipping, pulling, <br />seeding and pruning. <br />• Assist with management of wildlife including the monitoring and mapping of species <br />locations and densities. The highest priority being prairie dog and raptor population <br />monitoring and control. <br />• Removes snow from trails, sidewalks, and parking lots as needed. <br />Other Duties: <br />• May assist with developing and leading educational programs as directed by the Open <br />Space Manager. <br />• May assist with volunteer projects sponsored by the City and the Boulder County Youth <br />Corps during the summer months. <br />GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: <br />TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: <br />• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college is required in Recreation, Forestry, <br />Environmental Science, Wildlife Management or a closely related field. <br />• One year of outside field experience. <br />• May consider a combination of equivalent experience, training, and education as deemed <br />appropriate by the City of Louisville Human Resources. <br />SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />• Knowledge of ecological principals and resource management techniques. <br />• Knowledge of City code and ordinances preferred. <br />• Skill in interpreting and applying municipal codes to field problems and situations in a fair <br />and impartial manner. <br />• Ability to take direction and enforce Department and City regulations. <br />• Ability to ride a bike for extensive periods through City and on trails. <br />• Ability to operate a full size pick -up truck, ATV, and other midsize to large equipment. <br />• Ability to effectively work with full and part time personnel, children, volunteers and the <br />general public. <br />• Ability to use string line trimmer, hand tools and other small equipment. <br />• Ability to interpret and enforce local administrative ordinances and regulations. <br />• Ability to make good judgment; deal with problems involving standardized guidelines and <br />solutions. <br />• Ability to multi task and meet assigned deadlines. <br />• Ability to handle complaints in a courteous and efficient manner. <br />• Ability to administer first aid. <br />• Ability to work nights shifts, holidays, and weekends. <br />• Ability to collect data and prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports. <br />• Ability to work independently or with little supervision. <br />• Ability to understand oral and written instruction. <br />SPECIAL LICENSE.
