The new truck has been priced to be equipped with an <br />utility body, hydraulic operating system, and a <br />small electric hoist. Total State Bid price was <br />$19,504.00. The difference in the budgeted amount <br />($14,000? versus the vehicle price can be obtained <br />from other line items within the CIP or from the <br />projected unexpended fund balance for the Water and <br />Wastewater funds. <br />Mohr moved and Szymanski <br />Public Works Department <br />with identified opttions <br />Lakewood Fordland :in the <br />Unanimous. <br />seconded to authorize the <br />to purchase a 1-Ton Truck <br />through the State Bid from <br />total amount of $19,504. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD BID - TANDEM DUMP <br />TRUCK Phare explained that included in the 1988 CIP <br />Budget is the purchase of a Tandem Axle Dump <br />Truck/Snow Plow. ;>taff has examined a number of <br />vehicle makes and models to determine which vehicles <br />are best matched to the needs of Louisville. During <br />this review process. it was determined that the type <br />of vehicle the City was seeking had been included in <br />the State Bids for trucks. The low bid submitted to <br />the State for tande+m axle trucks was submitted by <br />White GMC of Denver. The base bid on the truck was <br />$41,829. The optional items brought the price of <br />the truck to $74,543. The options represent the <br />best mix of cost, productivity and quality and will <br />provide increased productivity in snow plowing, <br />asphalt and gravel hauling and related activities. <br />Phare explained that the General Fund Capital <br />Improvement Program contains $45,000 for the <br />purchase of a Tandem Axle Truck. Identified in the <br />Wastewater Fund Capital Improvements Program is <br />$38,000 for the purchase of the truck.
