crossing as well as account for the work needed at
Pine Street. The total budget for crossing repair
and related work is estimated to cost
approximately $27,000. This includes $22,000 for
rubberized rail crossing on So. Boulder Rd, $3,000
for paving and related work to So. Boulder Rd
crossing and $2,000 for paving associated road
work on Pine Street. Staff is seeking Council
direction regarding their preference as to the
available options for funding this project.
Approximately $31,000 surplus will be in the CIP
fund which was noi: anticipated at the time of
budget. The City Attorney has researched this
issued and found that the upgrading of the
crossing is the Ci.ty's responsibility, however,
there is a chancES that in working with the
railroad there may be some cost recovery, possibly
$4,000 - $5,000 if the paving could be done by the
railroad.
Phare will be trying to negotiate an agreement
with the railroad to schedule anticipated repairs
in advance so that money can be appropriated
during the budget process.
Mayor Fauson moved and Scarpella seconded to
authorize the Public Works Department to obtain
bids for the South Boulder Road rubberized
railroad crossing material.
Once the bids are in, Council will then decide how
to fund the project.
The motion passed unanimously.
AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD BIDS - SURPLUS
GENERATOR Phare explained th<~t on Friday, April 15, bids
were opened on tk~e disposal of the surplus
emergency generator located at the Water Treatment
Plant. The Town of Walden offered the highest bid
of $8,510 to purchase the generator. Public Works
is recommending that the generator bid from the
Town of Walden bey accepted and the revenue
received be deposited in the water fund.
Mayor Fauson moved and Scarpella seconded to award
the Town of Walden the bid for disposal of the
surplus generator at their high bid of $8,510.
Unanimous.
OTHER;
ADDITIONAL INTERIM FINANCING FOR DESIGN GOLF
COURSE FEES Williamson stated tYiat he received a letter from
David Stahl, Development Director for Homart
13
