Sackett expressed concern regarding the location
with its close prop:imity to residential areas and
its visibility on .a major thoroughfare. Sackett
discussed the desirability of other locations and
it was determined that there was no other
Centennial Valley site with appropriate zoning for
this type of business.
Mohr felt that in :fact since this is a temporary
permit and although he would agree that a
permanent use of this type at this location would
not be desirable, he would support a temporary use
of this type.
Mayor Fauson stated that he would have to agree
with Sackett that this is not the proper location
for this type of operation. "We'd like to have a
landscaping and materials business in Louisville,
but I just can't see it at that area myself. That
is one of main eni~ries into the City and to me
that just doesn't seem appropriate."
Szymanski stated he' concurs with Mayor Fauson and
Sackett.
Mayor Fauson also stated
types of materials being
with an offensive odor
areas.
he was concerned with the
stockpiled, i.e., manure
so close to residential
Carnival stated that he agrees with Mohr in that
this is a request for temporary use and the fact
that it is a landscape company tends to give some
credibility to thE~ir operation and will support
the request.
Scarpella concurred with Carnival stating that he
would rather see this temporary use than not
having the parcel Utilized at this time.
Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called
for a motion.
Carnival moved and. Scarpella seconded to approve
the St. Vrain Landscaping Temporary Permit.
Anderson asked ghat the motion be amended to
include 1) adequai:e on-site parking is provided
approved by staff, 2) some type of screening is
used in the area of the portable sanitary units,
and 3) the permit :state specifically that the term
is for the remainder of 1988. Carnival and
Scarpella accepted the amendments as part of the
motion.
7
