PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mayor Fauson stated that there were people in the
audience who wish to address Council. Therefore,
while waiting for Councilman Scarpella's arrive,
Mayor Fauson asked those people to address Council
at this time.
MOSQUITO ISSUE: D'Arla Phillips, 295 S. Hoover Ave., stated that
the mosquito problem in the Dutch Creek area was
very bad. Her child had been outside a short time
and was covered with insect bites. Ms. Phillips
asked Council to address the problem as it is a
health problem.
Lee Ann Staples, :?92 S. Stahl advised Lillo this
afternoon to move f orward and begin the treatment
of these particular areas . The cost of the
program is approximately $2,000 and staff has re-
prioritized specific areas in the Community
Services budget to fund this project.
Recommendations during the budget process for 1989
will be made to Council with regard to continuing
this program.
Mohr stated that he appreciated having these
people speak to th,e issue and their concern. Mohr
thanked staff fo:r their quick response to the
problem.
Sackett commented that he lives in Dutch Creek and
"can personally attest to the mosquito problem"
there. Sackett asked how the interim management
6
