30th. A moment of silence in honor of Bob was <br />observed and the Resolution was presented to his <br />wife Marie. <br />RESOLUTION #27 - RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION - RICHARD <br />WANUSH Mayor Fauson read Resolution #27, Series 1988, "A <br />Resolution recognizing the contributions to the <br />City of Louisville by Richard Wanush, the former <br />Director of Community Development." The <br />Resolution was presented to Mr. Wanush. <br />APPOINTMENT TO CITY COUNCIL AND SWEARING-IN OF <br />APPOINTEE As a result of the Council vacancy created by the <br />passing of Councilman Robert Szymanski, Council <br />requested individuals seeking consideration for <br />appointment submit their names to either the <br />Mayor, individual Councilmen or to the City Clerk. <br />Three people submiti~ed requests: Dennis Ferrera, <br />Marie Szymanski and Ceclia Wilson-Hubis. <br />City Attorney Williamson advised Council outlining <br />the procedure set :Forth in Louisville Municipal <br />Code Section 2.36.030 providing for appointment by <br />majority vote of the: Council to a vacancy and the <br />appointee shall ho:1d his office only until the <br />next general municipal election which in this case <br />would be November 1989. The appointment shall be <br />made within thirty days after the vacancy occurs. <br />Mayor Fauson moved that all three candidates be <br />considered and voted. on by secret ballot. Ballots <br />were given to each Councilmember and tallied by <br />the City Clerk. The results were given to Mayor <br />Fauson for announcement. <br />Council selected Dennis Ferrera to fill the <br />vacancy on Council and Municipal Judge Lee Hawke <br />conducted the swearing-in ceremony. Mr. Ferrera <br />then took his seat on Council. <br />PRESENTATION BY REPRESENTATIVE SANDY <br />HUME State Rep. Sandy Hume spoke to Council regarding <br />the State of Colorado's Transportation Plan. Rep. <br />Hume is the City's representative (District 13) on <br />the Governor's Transportation Round Table to study <br />the problems of transportation policy in the <br />State. Rep. Hume asked that Council and citizens <br />contact him regarding their concerns and needs. <br />W-470 and mass transit will be major topics in <br />these discussions. <br />Mayor Fauson thanked Rep. Hume for his involvement <br />and the expedient sharing of information he has <br />provided Council and the citizens of Louisville. <br />2 <br />
