approved the proposal with two conditions: 1)
Submittal of a drainage and grading plan, and
2) Developer is responsible for improving alley
for access to east side parking. Access must
meet Public Works standards.
Ray Sears, Architect and Representative for the
applicant, described the building and the
project in detail .
Anderson expressed concerns with the need for a
"right in, right out" curb cut as access to
this property due to its location on Main and
the close proximity of the intersection of
Lafayette Street. McGuire stated that the site
plan includes language that would require that
should the Public Works Department determine at
a later date that it is needed. Anderson
expressed concern over drainage issues at and
near this site. Stahl explained that the City
has the obligation for now to improve Main
Street east of the railroad tracks in the
Lafayette Street right-of-way as part of the
Drainage Way A improvements. Final engineering
of these improvements will determine what is
necessary to complete this project properly.
Carnival moved and Ferrera seconded to adopt
Resolution #54, Series 1988. By Roll Call
Vote, the motion passed 6-0.
Anderson and Sackett were excused during discussions on the next two
Agenda Items due to possible conflict of interest.
APPROVAL OF GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT
CONSULTANT Stahl explained. that the Golf Course Advisory
Committee and staff completed their evaluation
of the final golf course management proposals
submitted by Recreation Services LTD (RSL) and
the Brennan/Hardy Organization to manage the
Coal Creek Golf' Course. Both oral
presentations a,nd informal discussions were
held with each firm to assess their experience
in the golf course management field and the
merits of their proposals. Based upon final
evaluations, th.e Committee and staff recommend
that RSL be selected to manage the Coal Creek
Golf Course. R:SL has been involved in the
development and. management of golf courses for
five years and currently manages six municipal
golf courses throughout the country. Their
offices are located in Dallas, Texas. RSL will
establish a regional office in Louisville.
