Krisko told Council that this request to
restructure the wage scale for Seasonal Employees
is being made to reef lect the reality of
operations. In ex2~mining the listed positions,
several are not included within the list. In
addition, Krisko we>uld like the swimming pool
positions to reflect the employee advancement
scheme which has been in effect for several years.
Szymanski asked what the effect on the budget
would be if these changes were to be approved.
Krisko stated that the overall effect would be a
reduction in salaries budgeted for this year.
Mayor Fauson moved that Ordinance #928 be put out
for publication anct a public hearing be set for
May 19, 1987. Carnival seconded. Unanimous.
AWARD BID - STREET
SWEEPER Phare stated that on March 12, 1987, the Public
Works Department received bids on three wheeled
street sweepers. Upon the Street Superintendent's
research to determine the advantages and
disadvantages of the different sweepers, staff is
recommending the bid be awarded to Booth Rouse for
the FMC Vanguard 3(100 Street Sweeper in the amount
of $68,750 and approve an initial payment of
$20,000 towards they purchase plus enter into a two
year lease agreement to pay the balance.
Anderson moved that: Council award Booth Rouse
their bid for an FMC Vanguard 3000 Street Sweeper
with the financing terms outlined by staff.
Carnival seconded. Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO AMEND URBAN FLOOD DISTRICT
AGREEMENT On Friday, April 10, the Urban Drainage and Flood
Control District o~>ened bids on the City of
Louisville Drainage~way D Detention Pond. Bids
received reflect favorable contract prices and
were considerably less than the engineer's
estimate for the project. Previously the City had
authorized a contract with Urban Storm Drainage
and Flood Control District for a project with
projected lower co:~ts. In order to revise the
current agreement with Urban Storm Drainage and
Flood Control District, it will be necessary to
approve this agreement reflecting as bid cost for
completing the detention pond project.
Anderson expressed concern regarding engineer's
estimates being off: by nearly $200,000 on a
$400,000 project. "We need to get a little
tighter on these numbers coming in so we have a
better picture..."
9
