Carnival seconded. <br />The amended motion was approved unanimously. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD BID - CIP CHIP <br />SEAL PROJECT Phare explained thai:, bids were received for the 1987 <br />Chip Seal Project. Only one bid was received on the <br />project from A-I Paving Inc. in the amount of <br />$17,864.30. A review of their bid prices indicates <br />the bid amount reflects unit prices typical of this <br />type of work and otYier work for the City has been <br />performed satisfactorily by this company. <br />Mayor Fauson moved i:hat A-I Paving Inc. be awarded <br />the bid of $17,864.30 for the City's Chip Seal <br />Project. Szymanski seconded. Unanimous. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO SET PUBLIC HEARING - LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION - <br />BENITO'S RESTAURANT Hundley explained thiat Samuel Espinoza has applied <br />for an H & R Liquor License for his new restaurant <br />located at 950 Spruce Street. His application is in <br />order and all fees have been paid. He will provide <br />Council with petitions at the proposed public <br />hearing to prove the "needs of the neighborhood." <br />City Clerk, Pam Ferris, is recommending a public <br />hearing be set for :>eptember 1, 1987. <br />Mayor Fauson moved that a public hearing be set for <br />Benito's Liquor License for September 1, 1987. <br />Szymanski seconded. Unanimous. <br />SADDLEBACK I - EASEMENT <br />VACATION Wanush explained that the applicant is requesting <br />the City vacate a small portion of a utility <br />easement in Lot 50, Saddleback Filing #1. As <br />explained in the applicant's letter, Kelly Beard of <br />Holladay Corporation., the house built on the lot <br />slightly encroaches (by one foot) an eight-foot <br />utility easement. Staff and the utility companies <br />have reviewed the rE~quest and have no objections. <br />The City Attorney has prepared the quit claim <br />vacating easement right only for the area in <br />question and staff recommends Council authorize the <br />Mayor to sign the quit claim. <br />Mohr moved that Council authorize the Mayor to sign <br />the quit claim as described by staff. Scarpella <br />seconded. Unanimous. <br />INFORMATION/DISCUSSION - LETTER REGARDING MASS TRANSIT IN DENVER <br />METRO AREA Hundley explained that the City of Westminster has <br />taken the lead to foam the Northwest Corridor Policy <br />Committee whose mission it is to make decisions <br />regarding the future of rapid transit for the <br />4 <br />
