past to approve basically a doubling of our
population over the next 10-15 years. My comment
was that we should arrive at that as quickly as is
reasonably feasible. And a good way to judge that
is by whether we can service that kind of
building." Mohr further stated that commercial
and industrial growth is still a priority and many
steps have been taken to bring this type of growth
to Louisville. "The fact that we have brought
residential annexation proposals, does not mean
that we went out and sought them. There are some
implications that are probably incorrect."
Szymanski thanked those people who came and spoke
tonight. Szymanski stated that economical
development was an issue in campaigning for a
Council seat as was controlled quality growth.
Council's job is to provide for quality growth
that will benefit everyone. Carnival also appreciates those people
who came this evening bringing their concerns to
his attention and also feels that these concerns
can be dealt with. In light of some of the
comments made this evening, Carnival would also
like to postpone making a decision until they can
be clarified in his mind.
Sackett feels that are some legitimate points
brought up regarding some of the issues including
the timing of the annexation. Attracting retail
to increase sales tax by increasing the population
to some degree doesn't necessarily mean build more
houses, Sackett stated. Council has been working
hard to attract new industry to town which would
bring more people t:o the City.
