It is Public Works recommendation that all bids
be rejected due to the excess of the estimated
contract cost. Staff is working with Rocky
Mountain Consultants to analyze and evaluate an
alternate fast of Highway 42 and once that
evaluation is complete, staff would request
permission to re-bid the project.
Mayor Fauson moved that Council reject all bids
for the North Louisville Interceptor Sewer.
Szymanski seconded. Unanimous.
TEMPORARY USE PERMIT APPLICATION - FRONTIER MATERIALS -
PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus recommended that the Public Hearing
be opened and a motion to continue it would be in
order.
Mayor Fausan opened the Public Hearing.
Rautenstraus stated that notice of Public Hearing
was published on May 28, 1986, and both the
applicant and the City are recommending that the
Public Hearing be continued to the next Council
Meeting.
Mayor Fausan moved that the Public Hearing on the
Temporary Use Permit for Frontier Gravel be
continued. Carnival seconded. Unanimous.
INFORMATION - SCHEDULED SHUT DOWN OF WATER
TREATMENT PLANT Phare explained that as part of the addition of a
high zone pump to the High Zone Pump Station, it
is necessary to disconnect electrical power to the
pumps. During the shutdown, the contractor shall
install electrical buss bars between the existing
motor control center panels and the new panel.
The shut down will occur on June 6th between 2:30
a.m. and 4:00 a.m. The service interruption means
that there will be no water pumped to the high
zone and mid-zone areas while the work is being
done. The fire department has been notified and
alternate plans have been devised. Phare
requested that people in these zones discontinue
use of water during the identified times to help
eliminate air in the lines when the pumps are
started back up.
Phare explained that letters were not sent to
homeowners due to the numbers involved. However,
Phare felt that thraugh the press and this public
notice, people will be aware of the shut down plus
the hours chosen to conduct this procedure would
cause only iminimal inconvenience to those
residents.
6
