develop a medical campus including a hospital,
physicians offices and outpatient treatment centers
on the proposed site. Staff recommend that
Council refer this annexation request to the
Louisville Planning Commission for further study.
Mark Williams, representative of the Rocky
Mountain Services, stated that there is no time
frame for the facility. It is their intention to
contract with a large national firm to do a market
study of the feasibility of the needs for health
services in this area. Based on the results of
that study, a time plan will be set up. The
association feels that the business climate in
Louisville is very good and the site has excellent
visibility. Also the site is large enough to do a
lot of things with and serve the health needs of
Louisville, Broomfield and the entire southeastern
Boulder County area for a long time in the future.
Szymanski stated that included in Council's
objectives, this endeavor is certainly on top of
the list and supports the proposal.
Mayor Fauson moved that this annexation request be
referred to the Planning Commission for further
study. Mohr seconded. Carried. (Anderson
abstained from voting.)
OTHER:
MAYORAL APPOINTMENT TO SENIOR
ADVISORY BOARD Mayor Fausan, after attending a meeting with the
Senior Advisory Board, moved that Councilman Mohr
be appointed to the Board upon their request.
Anderson seconded. Unanimous.
APPROVAL OF STREET CLOSURE REQUEST
DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS The Downtown Merchants requested a street closure
on Main Street from Pine St. to South St. for a
sidewalk/street sale on August 2nd. Mayor Fauson
moved that this request be granted. Carnival
seconded. Unanimous.
PUBLIC COMMENTS Eric Judson, 280 W. Cedar Way, asked if there are
any additional hearings schedule on the W-470
issue. Mohr stated that there will be meetings
conducted by DRCOG at the time Phase II of the
study considers specific corridors. Judson asked
if there would be a public vote on the annexation
of land for W-470. Hundley stated that annexation
would not be needed or required. Additionally,
Judson wanted to know if there would be public
hearings on the golf course site and the hospital
site. Hundley stated that the golf course is on
10
