Does it make sense to build at this time? <br />The issue of water must be undertaken in-house and <br />solved before pursuing a course. <br />Anderson stated that he was not present at the <br />presentation and has some reservations regarding <br />an exclusive commitment to Pines Enterprises. <br />Hundley stated that there is no exclusivity - only <br />a two month agreement while the feasibility study <br />is being conducted at Pines Enterprises expense. <br />Hundley further stated that he feels the City owes <br />Pines the first right to negotiate. If in fact, <br />the City can not reach an agreement with them, <br />then open it up to other parties. They have made <br />a good faith gesture and the City should negotiate <br />in good faith with them. If there are major <br />problems in those negotiations, then look to <br />another group perhaps. <br />Anderson would like to see the City have the <br />opportunity to open up all the possibilities of <br />negotiating with any and all those parties <br />interested in the development of a golf course. <br />Other communities have had serious problems with <br />respect to golf courses on municipal ground. <br />Anderson wants to make the best effort possible to <br />get the best possible people to do it and with the <br />best possible arrangement. <br />Szymanski stated that the City as a whole will <br />benefit by stimulating retail development and <br />increasing activity in existing retail. <br />Hundley stated that the City can at any time <br />decide not to continue with the proposal. <br />Fauson moved that Pine Enterprises be given a two <br />month exclusive option to conduct a feasibility <br />study on the golf course. This property is currently owned by David, <br />Carol and Wilma Spicer and Rocky Mountain <br />Services have a signed agreement for its purchase <br />contingent on favorable annexation by the City of <br />Louisville.
