Hundley stated that the Chamber of Commerce is
anticipating some meetings for discussion
regarding this issue and the City staff will be
available as well.
RECESS A short recess was called at this point.
ANNEXATION REFERRAL - GOOD SHEPHERD
CHRISTIAN CENTER Wanush stated that a letter was received from the
Good Shepherd Christian Center requesting
annexation and agricultural zoning of 12 acres
owned by the Center at 225 South 80th Street (the
west side of McCaslin Boulevard). The Center
hopes to build a church and a parsonage on the
proposed site. Such uses require Special Review
in every zoning district within the City. Staff
recommends referral to the Planning Commission.
In response to Szymanski's question regarding
access, staff stated that there is temporary
access and this property is at a primary location
to consider access. Szymanski asked that Planning
Commission look at the access issue closely.
Mayor Fauson moved that this request be referred
to the Planning Commission. Szymanski seconded.
Unanimous.
INFORMATION ONLY - EXXON FUNDS
ALLOCATION Hundley informed Council that the application that
we submitted for Exxon Funds was not funded by the
State. They had 388 proposals and it was tough
competition. The fact that Louisville submitted
the proposal will help in working with the State
through the office of Energy Conservation that has
a grants program that the City of Louisville would
be eligible for as well as $3.7 million in
weatherization funds. Hundley feels that the City
will still be able to take advantage of available
funds.
INFORMATION ONLY - DRCOG CONGRESS
OF GOVERNMENTS Sackett, Council's representative to DRCOG,
explained that this Congress is very important for
the City to attend and only elected officials may
serve as delegates to the Congress. The date is
October 11, 1986. Council will contact Hundley
regarding attendance this week.
OTHER:
GOLF COURSE UPDATE Hundley updated Council stating that the
feasibility study by THK Associates is not yet in
and Gary Vickers is out of town. Hundley will
have information for Council at the next meeting.
11
