Unanimous. <br />PRESENTATION OF SNOW <br />REMOVAL PLAN Phare explained the City's snow removal plan <br />outlining the three street categories and <br />priorities for the removal of snow: 1) arterial <br />streets -- McCaslin Blvd. from the interchange to <br />So. Boulder Road, So. Boulder Road from the west <br />City limits to the east City limits, Via Appia, <br />Pine Street, Cherry Street, Bella Vista, Main <br />Street, 96th Street running out to the industrial <br />area and STC; 2 ) collector streets -- i.e., <br />streets that service schools and senior citizen <br />center, Madison, Tyler, Washington, Kennedy, <br />Lafayette, etc.; and 3) local services streets. <br />Phare detailed the equipment used and stated that <br />there are six full time employees available for <br />snow plowing. Employees in other divisions can be <br />called upon when necessary. Phare is also looking <br />for help from the private sector as the City has <br />used Varra Company in the past and they may not be <br />available this season for additional assistance. <br />Anderson asked that the snow removal map be on <br />display for public information and Phare explained <br />that during working hours people can call the <br />Public Works Department for information and report <br />problems and the Police Department can be <br />contacted before and after hours. <br />OTHER: <br />RESOLUTION #52 <br />AMENDMENT #4 Hundley explained that at Council's last Work <br />Session, staff was directed to draft a resolution <br />in opposition to proposed Amendment #4 to the <br />Colorado Constitution whereby any new tax or <br />increase in tax for any local government to be <br />imposed only with the approval of the voters at a <br />general election only in even numbered years. <br />Rautenstraus read Resolution #52 in its entirety. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Mohr stated that "in the past 210 <br />years, representative government has worked very <br />well for this country. We elect public officials <br />to make important decision and when they don't do <br />the job, we have the ultimate power to vote them <br />out in the next election."
