Project) Series 1985, in the principal amount of
$1,200,000; and approving the form and authorizing
the execution of curtail documents relating
thereto." Mayor Meier moved that Ordinance #856
be put out for publication and a Public Hearing be
set for May 21, :L985. Fauson seconded and the
motion was passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE #857
WEEDS Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #857,
"An Ordinance amending Chapter 8.08 of the
Louisville Municipal Code concerning responsibility
for cutting of weeds within the City of
Louisville." Mayor Meier moved that Ordinance
#857. be put out for publication and a Public
Hearing set for June 4, 1985.
Hioco presented the results of a survey conducted
by the Community Services Department regarding the
maintenance of oper- space and weed control. The
average buffer that is cut by area municipalities
is 25 feet. The average maximum height for weeds
was approximately Ei-7 inches. Several communities
cut on an "as needed" basis. Most communities cut
their open space buffers an average of 4 times a
year.
The cutting of weeds does not control insects.
The insects move to "higher ground", however the
cut buffer is then usually baited to control
grasshoppers and beetles.
Wild life sanctuaries and open space areas will
not be cut, however, weed control is still
maintained in theses areas. In leased areas, the
lessor is required to maintain the property.
None of the respondents of the survey cut a buffer
of more than 100 feet.
Mayor Meier moved that Ordinance #857 be put out
for publication and a Public Hearing be set for
June 4, 1985. Luce seconded. The motion was
passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE #858 -
PRIVATE PROPERTY
PARKING Rautenstraus read Ordinance #858, by title only,
"An Ordinance regarding the ticketing and towing
vehicles parked on private property."
