Howard was concerned that there is the same space between building
structures for low as for the medium density. One of the
complaints that he has gotten was large houses crammed up against
each other.

Wood:

I think it would be appropriate
to incorporate the 20'.

Davidson stated that the intent of this Ordinance is for zoning in
the future, so the Ordinance needed language saying the old zoning
could not be used on newly annexed or rezoned land from June 1,
1994, forward.

Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, stated that she would look into it.

Wood stated that they are across the board at 27' maximum building
height. In the revised definition of building height restriction
it would still be 27', but the definition of building height would
be changed to the highest point of the roof structure, rather than
the mid point between the eve and the top of the roof. Concerning
grade, the proposed Ordinance, rather than defining grade at the
center point of an exterior wall or at the center of a structure,
defines grade as at ground surface at the lowest and highest
exterior walls.

Mayer moved that Council approve Ordinance No. 1147, Series 1994,
which amends Chapter 17 of the Louisville Municipal Code creating
five new residential districts on first reading and set a public
hearing for May 3, 1994, with the notations made by himself,
Councilman Howard, and Mayor Davidson. Seconded by Howard.

Griffiths:

For clarification, are you directing
the staff and the Attorney to come
back on second reading with the
amendments that you have discussed
during tonight's meeting.

Mayer agreed.

Davidson called for any further discussion.

NONE

Ail in favor.

ORDINANCE NO. 1148, SERIES 1994 - AMENDING THE SUBDIVISION
EXEMPTION REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 16.04.040 OF THE LOUISVILLE
MUNICIPAL CODE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY - 1ST READING - SET
PUBLIC HEARING FOR 5/3/94

Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1148, Series 1994, "An
ordinance amending the subdivision exemption requirements of

7
