Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated that the purpose of this amendment is to add a fifth exemption to the Subdivision Code, which would exempt a parcel ground from the formal subdivision review process, if the division was for the purpose of purchase, sale, or dedication of additional right-of-way from that parcel to another parcel. Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, explained that there was one correction to make on Section 1 that the words in parenthesis be deleted, as they are unnecessary. Sisk: If we're going to exempt this process under the Subdivision Code, does that mean that it would have to be land immediately adjacent to an existing City right-of-way? Or, could we do a right-of-way that would not necessarily be immediately adjacent, but cut through a person's property leaving a triangle? Griffiths: There are already four other exemptions from the subdivision regulations. The wording does not necessarily require that it be immediately adjacent. This doesn't tell the City how it's getting the property. It's saying you do not have to go through the subdivision platting process in order to accomplish what you're trying to accomplish.
