City of Louisville Employee Survey <br /> July 2008 <br /> Employee Support and Recognition <br /> Five items were combined to assess the dimension of"employee support and recognition."The <br /> overall average rating for this factor was 60 points, or between"somewhat" agree and "somewhat" <br /> disagree. <br /> Three-quarters of employees felt that they were encouraged to come up with creative and innovative <br /> solutions to problems and that there was someone at work who encouraged their development. <br /> Seven in 10 survey respondents agreed that,in the past six months, someone at work had spoken <br /> with them about their progress. <br /> Fewer employees felt that they received appropriate recognition and praise for doing good work <br /> (60%agreed with this statement) and half of respondents agreed that,in the past seven days, they <br /> had received recognition or praise for doing good work. One-third expressed "strong" disagreement <br /> with the last statement.
