Williams noted the Dolphin Swim team begins <br />practice at the Memory Square pool on May 15th and on June 6th there will be a 30-year <br />rededication of Memory Square Pool. <br /> <br />Simmons asked Public Works Director Tom Phare to update Council on the SH 42/96th <br />Street Highway Connection. <br /> <br />Phare reviewed the SH 42/96th Street Highway Connection Project schedule as follows: <br />1) Consultant to complete design by mid-June, 2) Staff s review of design and bid <br />process from mid-July to mid-August, 3) Start construction in December and completion <br />of construction by end of construction season in 2004. Phare also reminded the residents <br />on the City annual clean-up day on May 9 and 10. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported on the following items: <br /> <br />Staff is working with the Pickett family on the Spruce Street open space acquisition and <br />will attend the June 5 meeting with the Boulder County Commissioners relative to a <br />boundary line adjustment. The closing for the property is scheduled for June 13. <br /> <br />Staff is proceeding with plans for the July 4th Celebration. <br /> <br />Council members Sisk and Van Pelt and City Staff met with Boulder Valley School <br />District relative to the artificial surface of the field at Monarch High School. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee has asked Council to review the 2004 Budget Calendar. <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson, Mayor Pro-Tem Sisk and Staff met with the Colorado Tech Center, <br />Centennial Valley and others relative to the Community Investment Fee. Staff is working <br />on a draft ordinance for the Community Investment Fee. <br /> <br />The results of library poll will be presented to Council at the May 13th work session. <br /> <br />The plans for McCaslin Interchange will be also presented at the May 13th work session. <br />The traffic engineer will be present to respond to Council questions. Simmons reviewed <br />the three proposed alternatives for McCaslin Interchange: Alternative 1) Calls for the <br />most construction to the Louisville side of the interchange, Alternative 2) Similar to <br />Alternative 1, with less construction on the Louisville side, and Alternative 3) Shows no <br />new construction on the Louisville side. <br /> <br />Brown asked about a double left coming from the west and entering into Louisville. <br />Simmons stated there would be considerable expansion along that area. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
