LSVL. TIMES 8/6/94)

Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1160, Series 1994, "An ordinance amending Section
8.08.020A, as amended by Ordinance No. 1149, Series 1994, and Section 8.08.030 of the Louisville
Municipal Code concerning weed control and declaring an emergency."

Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police, stated that this will set acceptable maximum weed heights in the
city to 6" on developed residential land, 12" on undeveloped residential, 12" on agricultural buffer,
which is 100', no limitations on agricultural land inside the buffer, and no limitations on city parks and
open space.

Davidson opened the public hearing.

Lyle French, 174 Cherrywood Lane, Louisville, Colorado, stated that he is a co-owner of a piece of
property that the city required his developer to have, which is a water retention area that now belongs
to his Homeowner's Association. He commented that he has received a weed summons, which he
felt created problems, because this property was required by the City of Louisville and owned by the
Homeowner's Association. He felt this was a 12" height requirement under this amendment, but he
wanted direction for the Homeowner's Association in following this Ordinance.

Davidson asked for someone from staff, such as Parks & Recreation, to contact Mr. French.

Davidson called for anyone else wishing to speak on Ordinance No. 1160.

NONE

Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments or questions.

Keany felt the City of Louisville should have to live up to the same expectations as the citizens.

Davidson agreed and felt it should be addressed in a future Work Session.

Susan Griffiths, City Attomey, informed Council that the Ordinance has a second'reading amendment,
a new section 6, an emergency clause, and would have to be approved by all six of the
Councilmembers in order for it take effect on an emergency basis, otherwise it would take effect 30
days after publication.
