Sisk:

Mayer:

Lathrop:

I would like to have it stated as
youth activities rather than sports
activities that are offered through
the City of Louisville.

I would like Council advised, on a
periodic basis, of who is using it.

If requests exceed the available
time, I'd be prepared to shift to a
reduced fee on a space available
basis.

Sisk moved that Council adopt recommendation #4 which is to have
the staff set aside time at the end of each youth activity where
the Recreation Center can be used free of charge on a first come
first served basis. Mayer asked for a friendly amendment that the
Council be advised on a seasonal basis. Howard asked for a
friendly amendment that the changes in the wording "sports
activities" be changed to "youth activities in City sponsored
programs", seconded by Howard. All in favor.

DISCUSSION/DIRECTION TO COUNTY CONCERNING BOULDER COUNTY ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Annette Brand, City Administrator, explained that this is on the
Agenda because of a couple of calls from Commissioner Ron Stewart.
In the packet before you is material on the Boulder County Economic
Development Program. Within the packet are three pages which tell
you about the program which originated in 1986. There is a
proposal from the Louisville Chamber of Commerce for last year plus
their report for the end of the year. Then, there are the
proposals from all of the Cities and/or economic development arms
in Boulder County. The program began in 1987 and since that time,
out of the Boulder County Development Funds, the Louisville Chamber
of Commerce has received a grant for $27,000.00 each year. One of
the requirements of the program is that there be matching funds to
that program from the City or from the organization. Historically,
for this three year period, the City of Louisville has funded the
Chamber operation for up to $25,000.00. Since there is a
substantial change in the Council, with of new people, the County
would like to be notified, officially, what the City's position is
as far as these funds being allocated to the Chamber of Commerce.
This will also carry along the decision of what you would be doing
with your funds to the Chamber. In the budget last year for this
year there is a figure for $25,000.00 that has been approved but
not appropriated.

Gene Caranci, 1101 Main Street, Louisville, CO, Executive Director
of the Louisville Chamber of Commerce

Caranci:

Since the City of Louisville and the

22
