Chamber implemented the Economic
Development Agreement in 1985 and
that the Chamber has had with
Boulder County, all of our funding
requests, proposals and programs
were designed for a period of one
year. At the beginning of each
year, the Chamber Board scheduled a
planning session to set goals and
objectives for that year. Prior to
the planning sessions, a tentative
budget was established based on
revenues from yearly membership
fees, yearly fund raisers, Chamber
monthly activities, private
contributions and from the City and
from the County Development support.
Immediately following the annual
planning session, committee
chairpersons established a working
committee which was made up of
volunteers and would begin working
on the year's plan. Each
Chairperson has to submit a budget
to the Chamber Board for approval
and evaluation. Once the program
and the Budget are approved specific
plans are developed by the
committee. Before any given
activity is implemented, a period of
three to six months of planning is
sometimes necessary. During the
past six years, many new and
exciting events have taken place in
the City of Louisville. We have
grown from a small town to a
thriving City without losing our
sense of community or our quality of
life. We have grown in population
from 9,375 in 1985 to approximately
13,000 in 1992. We have established
a diversified tax base as a result
of companies such as STC, Ohmeda,
Cybermedic, Confi-Dental, Prism
Imaging, Explosive Fabrications,
Television Tech, Biotrol and
Cryptonics who have moved into out
City. We have most of the amenities
that are only found in cities of
20,000 or more. For instance, a
full service hospital, a
championship golf course, recreation

23
