I'm not sure.

Sisk:

I would like to see some follow-up
with Lafayette in terms of
encouragement from us to have them
participate in this.

Hedding:

How long will this Task Force be in
place? How will they know when they
are finished?

Lathrop:

Good question. I don't know. It's
going to take a while just to bring
things into focus.

Hedding:

If I had read closer, on Page 5 it
states that if not terminated
sooner, the Agreement shall
automatically terminate December 31,
2000.

Howard:

There is, also, a glaring hole by
the lack of participation by the
Town of Superior. I would like to
know why they chose not to
participate.

Lathrop:

I don't know.

Mayer:

Do you know what they will be
looking for in the way of funding?

Lathrop:

It's going to depend on the
Department of Energy and the amount
of their grant. If the size of the
grant is sufficient to cover the
basics of the work plan, then there
is no need for local funds. If the
grant is denied, the whole work plan
will be scaled back tremendously and
we would probably be asked for more
"in kind" type of support than
actual monetary support. We are not
obligating ourselves to anything.
It's voluntary.

Hornbostel moved that Council support the concept of creating the
Task Force and that some of the details that will be worked out
later will be brought back to Council for further refinement.
Seconded by Sisk. Roll call was taken. All in favor.

11
