Brand: We don't get the bills until late Friday afternoon, so the Finance Committee will have to meet on Friday afternoons, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 7-0 vote. Sisk: This is concerning the bills. Is there a reason that some employees get two different checks? Brand: There is a check to the police officers for uniform allowance and to a few people for a car allowance. Sisk: It's not broken out, I'm sure that's it. I was just curious. Brand: I would be glad to discuss any of your questions on the checks before the Council meetings. I go through the checks and I try to write any explanation for any of those that don't seem to have any explanation. Tom always calls and gives me a list and I go through those. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT NONE CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT Brand stated that she had a call earlier this week concerning the renting of the Council Chambers. The Council Chambers are rented to anyone who asks to rent them free of charge. When rooms are rented at the Recreation Center, we must charge for that. Brand's call was from the local editor, who had rented a room at the local Recreation Center and had to pay $210.00 for the use of it. Then, he discovered that one of his competitors, the Longmont Times Call, had rented the Council Chambers free of charge. We rent this room to the Forest Service, Great Books, Evening Optimists, Social Services (regularly), and many different people. She wondered if Council wanted to reconsider this practice now that Louisville has a Recreation Center that has rooms for which we do charge. Howard: I would support staff's request for either charging for this room, which is my preference, or not renting it out at all. 17
