by law. <br />Sec. 8.12.160. Violation; penalty. <br />Any person who violates any provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation <br />of this chapter, and shall be subject to the provisions of the general penalty ordinance, <br />codified in section 1.28.010. <br />Sec. 8.16.040. Regulation of inoperable vehicles and vehicle repair work. <br />E. Any violation of this section may be subject to abatement as provided in chapter <br />8.20 of this Code and to the penalties described in section 8 16.050 All remedies are <br />cumulative and the exercise of one shall not be deemed to prevent the exercise of another nor <br />to bar nor abate any prosecution under this section <br />Sec. 8.16.050. Violation; penalty. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to violate any provision of this chapter, and any <br />person found guilty of violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished for each <br />violation as provided in section 1.28.010. Each act or omission in violation of one or more <br />than one of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed a separate violation of such <br />provision, and for each calendar day during which any violation continues, a separate <br />violation shall be deemed to have been committed. <br />Sec. 8.20.010. Abatement procedure. <br />B. If the owner, occupant, or agent fails to comply with the notice, he shall be subject <br />to fine as provided in section 1.28.010. In addition to or in lieu of prosecuting the owner or <br />occupant for an ordinance violation if the notice to abate is not complied with within the <br />required time, the city may cause the nuisance to be abated and shall assess the cost of <br />abatement against the property and shall notify the owner or occupant of such assessment and <br />the amount of the assessment. The assessment shall be a lien upon the property until it is <br />paid. <br />C If the charge or assessment is not paid to the director of finance within 30 days <br />after the receipt of the notice of assessment, the charges or assessment shall be certified to <br />the county treasurer, to be placed by him upon the tax list for the current year and collected in <br />the same manner as other taxes are collected, with a ten percent penalty thereon to defray the <br />cost of collection. <br />Sec. 8.24.020. Abatement. <br />In addition to the fines and penalties provided in section 1.28.010, the city council, <br />the city attorney, or any owner of real estate within the city may institute injunction, <br />mandamus, abatement, or any other appropriate action or proceeding to prevent, enjoin, or <br />
