Joss:

My understanding is that their
present location on Main Street is a
temporary location, mainly because
they have no place to house their
vehicles. Since they use diesel
vehicles, it's real important that
those be in a garage during the
winter months. As far as response
time and better services, it depends
on where the call is as to whether
or not we'd have faster response
time. From an administrative and
managerial standpoint it would be of
great value to both the Fire
Protection District and the
Ambulance Service to have those
functions right together, because
there is so much cross training.
Every time there is an emergency
Ambulance call within the District,
the Fire Protection District does
respond with First Responder and
EMT's. A-1 furnishes a lot of our
medical training. Having those two
facilities combined would be of
great value to both entities. The
central location would allow for
good response throughout our
District area.

Howard:

Isn't A-1 currently housed with the
Fire Department?

Joss:

No. A-1 is renting a space at the
Main Street Office Building, which
is right across from the Middle
School.

Mayer:

How long is the current agreement
between the Fire Protection District
and A-1 run?

Joss:

Five years.

Mayer:

Would A-1 be constructing their own
building? What are the legal
arrangements on the building?

Joss:

At this juncture we have not gotten
that far. Before all of that time
and energy was spent, we decided
that this was the first step. There

3
