SUBJECT: DISCUSSION -BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS -GREEN <br />BUILDING <br />DATE: JUNE 24, 2008 <br />Administration: Third Party Certified HERS Raters provide modeling, inspections and energy <br />audit. Boulder County Building Department: Staff accept modeling with the permit application <br />and ensure compliance with the energy audit before a Certificate of Occupancy is issued. <br />Boulder County originally made this a third party monitored process so as not to incur any in <br />house stafF cost. They now have a full timE~ person to handle questions, help with design, <br />track compliance and educate the designers and contractors with the process. <br />Cost to C/ient. Approximately $500 to $4,000 Paid to third party inspectors for HERS Rating <br />Construction Cost to Projecf: 1 to 5% <br />City of Boulder <br />The City of Boulders Green Points Program <br />Type: This program has mandated items, including HERS, and a points program. <br />Mandatory Requirements <br />a.
