itself or the general Chamber
membership attempted to sabotage any
City events. Many participated on
the Fourth of July Committee and
other committees. It unfortunate
that a very few number of high
visibility did, which was to the
detriment of the Chamber and the
general Chamber membership. I think
that's really unfortunate.

Sackett:

The Chamber is saying that as an
official Board action from the
President, the Vice President is
saying to be right next door to the
City does give credence to the idea
that we're trying to work together
and we like that. There are fancier
offices and other places at even
better rates, but that's why that
location is so key, because of its
relationship to the City. Whether
we like it or not, it is going to be
played out in the press or otherwise
that this is just another barrier
between a cordial relationship. The
opportunity to forge a better
relationship with the symbolism here
is worth taking.

Gary Cummings, 415 Lois Drive, Louisville, CO, stated that he is
not a member of the Chamber, just a concerned citizen. He felt
that there had been enough disruption between the Chamber and the
Council. He wondered if it was an absolute necessity that the City
has to have that building, that it has to be done this year. He
didn't think it was.

Davidson:

It is somehow perceived that if the
City doesn't provide space to the
Chamber, it's somehow anti-Chamber.
I would like to point out that the
cities of Lafayette, or Boulder, or
Broomfield, or Longmont don't
provide space to their Chambers. I
don't think somehow that the City
not providing space to the Chamber
is anti-Chamber, because I don't
think the City of Lafayette is
considered anti-Chamber, or
Longmont, etc.

Davidson called for a five (5) minute recess.

10
