Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 15, 2003 <br />Page 10 of 11 <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood reported on the schedule for the StorageTek Annexation <br />and Zoning application, and noted it is a four-month process. The explained there are <br />three components of the applications; 1) Comp Plan Amendment, 2) Annexation and 3) <br />Overall rezoning request for 400 acres. The four-month process began on June 17th with <br />the submittal of the application. On August 19 Council will review the Resolution of <br />Substantial Compliance, which requires a public hearing no later than sixty days after that <br />date. The three applications have been coupled together within the four-month timeline. <br />The first reading would be October 7, and second reading would be on October 26. The <br />Planning Commission will review the Comp Plan and the rezoning request on September <br />9. The Planning Commission could potentially have an overflow meeting on September <br />18. In the event the Planning Commission's review is not complete by October 7, Staff <br />would request a continuance. <br /> <br />Brown asked if this could be put on the Web site. Wood responded yes and stated it is <br />important to have a link with STK so the public can follow the schedule. He noted STK <br />is also scheduling meetings in July and August. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons asked Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd to report on the <br />Louisville Historic Preservation Commission. <br /> <br />Boyd reported the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission was formed by the <br />Council in the spring, and have been meeting twice a month to work on drafting an <br />ordinance, which will address preservation of historic buildings in Louisville. They are <br />working on publicity, to let the public know about the Preservation Commission and the <br />work they are undertaking. They are also trying to differentiate between the functions of <br />the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission and the Historical Commission, which <br />oversees the operations of the museum. They are drafting a letter that would be sent to <br />the property owners in the old town area, and also a brochure, which would be available <br />to the public. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons asked Public Works Director to report on the reconstruction <br />project located at the 500 block of LaFarge Avenue. <br /> <br />Phare reported the project has been delayed due to a notice received from Xcel Energy on <br />their determination the gas main is too shallow and must be replaced. Xcel Energy will <br />replace gas lines and meters prior to resurfacing project. He stated the property owners <br />would receive notice of the project delay. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reminded Council of the Senior Board's Ice Cream Social on <br />Wednesday, July 17, 2003. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Davidson reported on the Flower's allegation of police aggressive behavior.
