Louisville City Council Meeting July 15, 2003 Page 3 of 11 Kim Hills, 2895 Kenyon Circle, Boulder, CO, reported on the City's smoke-fee ordinance and congratulated the Council for their foresight. She noted many other Colorado communities, as well as communities across the nation, are following Louisville lead in adopting a smoke free ordinance. Annie Tagen, Clean Indoor Air Policy Manager for the Colorado Tobacco Education and Prevention Alliance, congratulated and thanked the Council on their decision to pass a smoke-free ordinance. She presented Council with an award for their leadership. DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (DBA) REQUEST TO MODIFY THE PREMISES - SPECIAL EVENTS LIQUOR LICENSE Nancy Love, Downtown Business Association (DBA) President, updated Council on the success of the Friday night Street Faire. She estimated 1,000 to 1,500 people attend the Street Faire each Friday. She noted the number of vendors has increased over last year from 40 to 79. She stated the Steinbaugh Pavilion is a wonderful facility and she urged City to utilize it for other functions. She requested the Council permit the licensed premises on the Special Events Permit to be expanded. She distributed a diagram of the proposed expansion. Council thanked Love and the DBA members for their hard work on the Steinbaugh Pavilion and the Street Faire. Brown asked if the downtown restaurants and businesses have more customers during the Street Faire. Love stated the businesses report more profits on the Friday Street Faire. MOTION: Davidson moved that Council authorize the Mayor to sign the appropriate documents to modify the licensed liquor premises on the DBA Special Events Liquor License, seconded by Sisk. All in favor.
