Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 15, 2003 <br />Page 3 of 11 <br /> <br />Kim Hills, 2895 Kenyon Circle, Boulder, CO, reported on the City's smoke-fee <br />ordinance and congratulated the Council for their foresight. She noted many other <br />Colorado communities, as well as communities across the nation, are following <br />Louisville lead in adopting a smoke free ordinance. <br /> <br />Annie Tagen, Clean Indoor Air Policy Manager for the Colorado Tobacco Education and <br />Prevention Alliance, congratulated and thanked the Council on their decision to pass a <br />smoke-free ordinance. She presented Council with an award for their leadership. <br /> <br />DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (DBA) REQUEST TO MODIFY THE <br /> PREMISES - SPECIAL EVENTS LIQUOR LICENSE <br /> <br />Nancy Love, Downtown Business Association (DBA) President, updated Council on the <br />success of the Friday night Street Faire. She estimated 1,000 to 1,500 people attend the <br />Street Faire each Friday. She noted the number of vendors has increased over last year <br />from 40 to 79. She stated the Steinbaugh Pavilion is a wonderful facility and she urged <br />City to utilize it for other functions. She requested the Council permit the licensed <br />premises on the Special Events Permit to be expanded. She distributed a diagram of the <br />proposed expansion. <br /> <br />Council thanked Love and the DBA members for their hard work on the Steinbaugh <br />Pavilion and the Street Faire. <br /> <br />Brown asked if the downtown restaurants and businesses have more customers during the <br />Street Faire. Love stated the businesses report more profits on the Friday Street Faire. <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council authorize the Mayor to sign the appropriate <br />documents to modify the licensed liquor premises on the DBA Special Events Liquor <br />License, seconded by Sisk. All in favor. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1422, SERIES 2003 - AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND <br />REENACTING CHAPTER 5 OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE COMMERCIAL <br />DEVELOPMENT DESIGN STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES - 2nd reading - <br />public hearing (advertised Daily Camera 6/24/03) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1422, Series 2003. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood reviewed the City's Horticulture and Forestry Advisory <br />Board (HFAB), and the Land Management Staff, reviewed the City's commercial <br />landscaping standards in mid-2002. In December of 2002 a recommendation was <br />forwarded to the Planning Commission for changes to the Commercial Development <br /> <br /> <br />
