Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 3, 2004 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk explained the City does not have the technology for an electronic e-mail <br />connection to the Web Page, however, Staff is investigating acquiring that technology. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light addressed the lawsuit on the consent agenda, Resolution No. 6, <br />Series 2004, which will resolve the pending litigation ofT& T Bennett L.L.C.v. City of <br />Louisville. The resolution approves the granting of a Conservation Easement and <br />Agreement. The City will conduct a closing, record the agreement and pay the purchase <br />price and secure title insurance on the City's interest. The parties will then file to dismiss <br />the lawsuit. The conservation easement occurred after the Northwest Parkway IGA, <br />therefore shares of the easement will have to be conveyed to other IGA participants. He <br />reported on receiving the following requests for clarification of the Home Rule Charter: <br />1) The rule for absenteeism for City Council members. 2) City employees sitting on <br />appointed Boards and Commissions. 3) Two relatives working in the same department. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons called for Staff reports. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Tom Phare reported on the Highway 42/96th Street Project: Gas <br />mains and other public are in the process of being relocated. The railroad crossing <br />documents would come before the Public Utility Commission next week. He also <br />reported on the reuse water pipeline: The foundation for the plant has been poured and <br />the work continues on the pipeline and the plant. <br /> <br />Council member Brown asked for an update on the snow pack. Phare stated the City is in <br />good shape with 75% of carryover water from 2003. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manger Julie Boyd updated Council on the Police Department project. The <br />entire building has been enclosed. The plumbing is in place, the doors are framed in, and <br />the windows and dry wall will be installed soon, and some cabling has been completed. <br />The project continues to be two-three weeks ahead of schedule. City Manager Simmons <br />asked when the Council could tour the facility. Boyd stated the contractors recommend <br />waiting two to three weeks. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd updated Council on the Library project: Nine members of the <br />Library Committee interviewed five architectural firms, all of which presented good <br />proposals. Two architectural firms were scheduled for second interviews. Staff will make <br />a recommendation of a Library consultant at the February 17, 2004 meeting. The Library <br />Bonds were sold and the funds were deposited into the City's accounts. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported on the Consent Agenda Item - Approval of <br />Contract for Bella Vista Connector Street and noted there might be an opportunity to <br />obtain additional land to the south of the Community Park holding. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
