City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 4, 2008 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO noted on Thursday <br />January 31St, there was a Clirnate Change Speaker Program at the Louisville <br />Public Library. He commended Boulder County for their Sustainable Energy <br />Plan and stated there are opportunities for reducing energy by reducing light. He <br />requested Council consider a lighting ordinance. He suggested a Peak Oil Task <br />Force similar to the one formE;d in Portland, Oregon. He asked if the Metro <br />Mayors Memorandum of Understanding should be included in the plan. <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Councilor Dalton voiced his agreement with conservation goals to conserve <br />resources and supported reducing the pollution of water, air and the earth. He <br />supported market driven incenntives opposed to tax increases to support <br />incentives. He looked forward to the City's Staff proposals for energy <br />conservation. Councilor Dalton left the meeting at 8:10 p.m. <br />Councilor Clabots commended the Boulder County Staff members for their <br />presentation and noted there are some challenges before the County and the <br />City. He referenced vehicles idling within the City and the use of Smart Vehicles. <br />Ms. Milmoe stated those transportation issues were not included as there are <br />other transportation studies. She noted there are costs associated with the <br />implementation of the plan. <br />Ms. Livingston noted the top ;ZO strategies do not require a substantial amount of <br />funding. <br />Councilor Sackett explained there has been a lot of discussion about the need for <br />this plan. He supported the plan and moving it forward. He noted the City is <br />ready for the Plan, and it will Ihelp get the City on track by providing a roadmap. <br />He commended the County for a well thought out plan. <br />Councilor Muckle thanked thE; County for their excellent plan and presentation. <br />Councilor Yarnell thanked LR;CAB for reviewing the plan and bringing forward a <br />recommendation. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella stated she would also be seeing the Plan again and <br />hearing the Consortium members' comments at their February 6th, meeting. <br />MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 6, Series 2008, <br />seconded by Councilor Muckle. All in favor. Absent: Mayor Sisk, Councilor <br />Dalton. <br />
