City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 18, 2008 <br />Page 6 of 10 <br />City Attorney Light requested a friendly amendment to direct Staff to publish the <br />notice along with the ordinance. Mayor Sisk and Councilor Dalton accepted. <br />VOTE: All in favor. <br />RESOLUTION No. 12, SERIES 2008 - A RESOLUTION URGING THE <br />BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION TO <br />PURSUE ALTERNATIVES FOR THE LOUISVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL <br />RENOVATION PROJECT THAT ACCOMPLISH THE COMMUNITY'S SHARED <br />GOALS OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION, OUTSTANDING EDUCATION <br />FACILITIES AND SCHOOL SAFETY <br />City Attorney Light prepared a resolution based on the outline provided by <br />Councilor Muckle at the March 4, 2008 City Council meeting and the additional <br />comments and direction offered on the issue. City Attorney Light reviewed the <br />additions to the resolution. <br />Councilor Muckle voiced his appreciation to City Attorney Light and his support <br />for revisions to this resolution. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Barbara Hesson, 526 LaFarge Avenue, Louisville, CO stated she attended the <br />school and asked why residents were not told earlier of the proposed demolition. <br />Mike Koertje, 887 Welsh Court, Louisville, CO thanked Council for taking action <br />and he supported the resolution. He announced the Historic Preservation <br />Commission will meet on March 19, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street, Louisville, CO thanked Council for their <br />support and presented a document, entitled "A Flawed Process: `How the <br />Boulder Valley School Districl: Failed the Voters of Louisville'. The document is <br />available online at www.annie~4louisville.com/saveLMS.htm <br />Don Atwood, 298 S. Taft Court, Louisville, CO thanked Council for their support <br />and stressed the importance of preserving the City's northern gateway. <br />Annie Hughes, 1405 Garfield Court, Louisville, CO thanked the Council for <br />preserving the City's heritage and voiced her support for the resolution. She <br />spoke on behalf of Janet Storiington, 1101 Grant Avenue, Louisville, CO who <br />supported saving the Louisville Middle School historical facade. <br />Samuel Duran, 1109 Pine Street, Louisville, CO voiced his disappointment that <br />more Council members will not participate in meetings with the school district. <br />
