He stated
there were no cost estimates for the DAT to review.
Mayor Sisk concurred with Mayor Pro Marsella and suggested the reference to
the DAT be removed.
Councilor Dalton asked if all references to the DAT should be removed.
Mayor Sisk suggested only the reference in the 6tn "Whereas". He voiced his
concern that the project renovations would be delayed and suggested the Stn
"Whereas" begin as follows: ''`while not seeking to delay the project". Mayor Pro
Tem Marsella concurred. Councilor Muckle agreed the renovation project should
not be delayed. He suggested adesign-build concept.
Councilor Clabots stated finding an independent peer review analysis might take
several months and delay the: project. He voiced his support for the resolution.
Councilor Yarnell stated it would be up to the Boulder Valley School District to
determine the length of the project. She supported adding language, which
indicated the City is not seeking to delay the project.
Mayor Sisk suggested adding "without compromising the time sensitivity of the
project". Councilor Muckle also suggested adding to the last whereas, "while not
seeking to delay the project".
Councilor Sackett voiced his concern that the citizenry feels the school district
has failed them and felt the citizens are asking Council to make a stronger
statement. He supported changing the language to reflect the desires of the
community.
Councilor Dalton suggested adding language stating "the Council encouraged
the citizens to support the boind issue based on the assurances from the School
District the renovation of the Louisville Middle School would preserve the historic
portion of the building".
